The New Deal
President Roosevelt.
In the year 1932, Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected president of the Unites States. He knew he needed to stop the Great Depression. He created the New Deal to help fight back the Great Depression. Agencies managed relief programs to help the needy and the unemployed.
The New Deal had three main purposes. One, it provided relief for the needy. Two, it aided nationwide recovery by providing jobs and encouraging businesses to start up again. Three, it reformed business and government so there wouldn’t be another depression in the United States.
