Many families had much trouble
getting the vital supplies for living.
During the Great Depression, many people changed their living conditions. When their shoes had holes in them, they would place cardboard at the bottom of their shoes. More families went to soup kitchens and places where there was free clothing. Parents worked odd jobs for food, or clothing as well. The Great Depression changed people's way of life. The bank rushes are also part of the people's reaction. Instead of taking their money to the bank, many people kept their money hidden in their houses. Men and women did not trust banks with their hard earned money.
